Digital Xray
We utilize state-of-the-art digital X-rays to evaluate and document musculoskeletal injuries accurately and effectively. We have the capacity and expertise to perform routine and specialized views, including standing, long-leg, and full-spine X-rays. We can incorporate X-rays made in other facilities into the patient’s digital file.
MRI
MRI is routinely used to evaluate soft tissue, spine, and joint injuries. We coordinate MRI scanning with affiliate imaging centers. When necessary, we can arrange for an MRI with contrast, open MRI imaging, and sedated MRI procedures. The physicians of OSIC work directly with a dedicated team of musculoskeletal radiologists to provide the most comprehensive evaluation and documentation of injury.
EMG/NCS (Nerve Testing)
Many injuries can involve the nerves of the arms or legs. Electromyography (EMG) and Nerve Conduction Studies (NCS) are essential methods of testing and documenting nerve injury or nerve damage. Dr. Bertram conducts this testing at OSIC. The information learned about the nerves is used by our team of physicians to guide diagnosis and treatment planning.
CT Scan
A CT scan is an important modality that can evaluate bone and spine injury in great detail. We coordinate CT scans with our radiology colleagues to gather critical information that guides decision-making and, on occasion, surgical planning.
Fluoroscopy (C-Arm)
Fluoroscopy, also known as a C-arm, is used to precisely guide the injection of fine needles into the body for targeted treatments. OSIC has a dedicated suite for these treatments. Our suite is fully equipped with the latest technologies. This enables the safe and controlled delivery of medication and treatment to the spine, hip, and other joints as needed. A C-arm is essentially an “X-ray movie” that physicians can use to visualize anatomy and deliver therapies effectively. Most commonly, these injections are delivered to the neck and back. This field of medicine is typically referred to as Interventional Pain Therapy.
Digital Ultrasound
This technology enables the visualization of tendons, muscles, ligaments, and joints in the arms and legs without the use of radiation or needles. Using this precise imaging, we can effectively guide injections and monitor injuries and healing.
